'We won't have traditional wedding music,' says Justin Guarini when talking about his upcoming wedding ceremony with fiancee Reina Capodici.
Justin Guarini, the runner-up of "American Idol" first season, will get hitched with his fiancee Reina Capodici on Saturday, September 26. The pair is going to swap vows in "an intimate family wedding" which will be held at a private estate along the Delaware River near both of their families' homes in Pennsylvania.
"We won't have traditional wedding music," Justin tells Radar Online. "We'll have special arrangements by the Vitamin String Quartet of songs that mean a lot to us, by artists like
Radiohead,
Paramore and
Peter Gabriel. We're blending a lot of different traditions because my bride-to-be is Syrian and Italian and I'm black and Italian."
Additionally, the 30-year-old singer admits that he and Reina have written their own vows for the "spiritual" service. "A female minister of the Universal Church will be presiding over the ceremony and Reina and I have picked out what we want to say. For instance, we'll have some readings from Khalil Gibran on love," Justin explains further about his marriage plan.
Justin Guarini and Reina Capodici have known each other since high school, but they have just begun dating a couple of years ago. "I've known Reina since I was 15 but we didn't actually start dating until two years ago. Her mother was my English teacher in junior high school!" Justin recalls.
In December 2008, when he was at Disney's EPCOT Center to film the "hosting clips" for the "American Idol Experience" ride, Justin finally asked Reina to marry him. "I asked Reina to marry me after the fireworks show in a little private grotto there. It was very romantic!" he tells .
