Director Garry Marshall reveals that Taylor Swift wants to see her part in 'Valentine's Day' in order to write a song for the film.
One of "
Valentine's Day" theme songs is likely to be
Taylor Swift's work. Being interviewed during Variety's inaugural Power of Women luncheon in Beverly Hills on Thursday, September 24, the film's director Garry Marshall has told E! Online that the country singer is willing to write a single for the movie.
"We hope she does," Marshall stated. "But when people write songs, they always want to see the movie." Affirming his statement, the helmer added that Swift is currently expecting to see her scenes in the movie, stating "[Swift] wants to see the part that she's in. I just finished, so I need to edit for a second."
During the interview, Marshall also revealed he actually hoped Swift and her co-star
Taylor Lautner had bigger roles in the movie. However, their busy schedules made him coming up with another idea. "She writes songs and sings and he does the vampire thing," Marshall explained. "But I discovered Taylor Lautner ran track back in Minnesota. That's why I have him jumping hurdles in the movie. She likes to dance and he likes to jump a hurdle, so we made up the scene for them."
Shooting their parts in "Valentine's Day" in July, Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner were snapped locking lips on the movie's set in Los Angeles. In some pictures taken during the production, the twosome, who reportedly portrays a couple, was also seen holding hands.
Beside Swift and Lautner, "Valentine's Day" is also starring Academy Award-winning actress
Julia Roberts and some other top-notch actors such as
Jessica Biel,
Ashton Kutcher,
Jessica Alba,
Bradley Cooper,
Anne Hathaway, and
Jennifer Garner. Written by Abby Kohn and Mark Silverstein, the movie will be released in U.S. theaters on February 12, 2010.
