TVGuide has confirmed that famous songstress Shakira will appear on "The Bahamas Triangle", an episode of America Ferrera's "Ugly Betty" which is scheduled to be aired in November. Set to portray herself, she will fly to the Bahamas to shoot some of her scenes. She is going to become the key to helping a Mode photo shoot get back on the track when the magazine is on location in the Bahamas.
About Shakira's involvement in the series, the show's executive producer Silvio Horta tells People, "We're huge fans of Shakira." Then, Horta continues, "We had a very memorable moment in the third episode where Betty has a makeover that goes wrong and she struts down the street to 'Hips Don't Lie.' We've mentioned her several times over the course of the series and have always wanted to work with her. She's an enormous Latina icon, as is Betty, and we thought it was a perfect fit."
Beside Shakira, senior model Christie Brinkley will also make a cameo on the hit ABC show. She is going to star as Penelope Graybridge, the editor of a competing fashion magazine. Unfortunately, the 55-year-old beauty won't join Shakira to go to the Bahamas because her scenes will all be shot in New York City, TVGuide reports. Meanwhile, the fourth season of "Ugly Betty" will be premiered on Friday, October 9.
