A representative for Padma Lakshmi has confirmed that the 'Top Chef' host is currently carrying a 'miracle' baby after struggling with endometriosis for years.
Rumor of
Padma Lakshmi expecting her first baby has been confirmed. On Thursday, October 1, her representative announced the 39-year-old beauty is currently carrying a "miracle" child. "Model, author, and Emmy-nominated Padma Lakshmi confirms that she is carrying her first child after years of struggling with endometriosis, a cause for which she has co-founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America," the spokesperson told Us Magazine.
"As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle, and due to its delicate nature, we ask/implore the press to respect Ms. Lakshmi's privacy at this time," the representative continued. Endometriosis is a medical condition in which the uterus' lining grows in other areas of the body. As a result, it causes pain and irregular bleeding as well as possible infertility.
Unforunately, the spokesperson declined to mention the name of the man with whom the "Top Chef" host is pregnant. There has been speculation that Manu Nathan is the baby's father, but the spokesperson soon denied the report, telling that the 27-year-old guy is Padma's cousin.
