It has just been announced that Rachel Bilson is going to make a cameo on the 100th episode of comedy series "How I Met Your Mother". Though there has not been any official statement about her role, the former star of "The O.C." is reported set to play the mother, as in the show's title, claims.
In September, Craig Thomas, the executive producer for the hit CBS show hinted at the plot of the series' 100th episode, which is going to be aired in January 2010, saying "It'll be the closest Ted's ever come to [discovering who she is]." Thomas went on detailing "He's getting a step closer every episode this season, and episode 100 [we] kind of go bananas with it."
Thomas, moreover, confirmed the upcoming episode will feature "some serious mother action". Later, he admitted that he and his fellow executive producer named Carter Bay have been "spending a lot of time trying to cast the female role in Ted's story for episode 100."
"How I Met Your Mother" follows Ted, the character portrayed by Josh Radnor and how he falls in love. It all started when his best friend, Jason Segel's Marshall, dropped the bombshell that he was going to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Alyson Hannigan's Lily.
At that moment, Ted realized that he had better get a move on if he, too, hopes to find true love. Helping him in his quest is his friend Neil Patrick Harris' Barney, confirmed bachelor with endless, sometimes outrageous opinions, a penchant for suits and a foolproof way to meet women. When Ted meets Cobie Smulders' Robin, he's sure it's love at first sight, but destiny has something else in store. The series is narrated through flashbacks from the future. The fifth season of the show has been broadcast on September 21.
