Angelina Jolie has reportedly been in talks to play a half-seductress, half-action star title role in 'The Tourist' to replace Charlize Theron.
Rumor has it,
Angelina Jolie has been in talks to star in 2010 film "
The Tourist". According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will take the role which was left by
Charlize Theron, who had been attached to the movie project for a long time. If the rumor is true, Jolie will play a half-seductress, half-action star title role. However, as of the press time, both the production team and representative for the actress have yet to comment on the news.
Serving as a remake of 2005 French film "Anthony Zimmer", "The Tourist" will center on an American tourist, who finds his life in danger when a female Interpol agent uses him as a dupe to flush out an elusive criminal with whom she once had an affair. Spyglass Entertainment is currently looking for a helmer to replace Bharat Nalluri, who was off the project a week ago. So far,
Sam Worthington is the only actor who has been announced joining the film's cast ensemble to portray the male leading role.
As for Angeline Jolie, she has just finished filming her upcoming movie "
Salt", in which she plays Evelyn Salt, a CIA officer accused of being a Russian sleeper spy. Directed by Phillip Noyce, the thriller flick is expected to be released on July 23, 2010.
