Rihanna has announced the release date for her upcoming album through her first statement on Twitter, which mentions, 'The Wait Is Ova. Nov 23 09.'
After
Miley Cyrus and
Courtney Love decided to close their Twitter accounts,
Rihanna did the opposite by making her debut on the free social networking service. On Tuesday, October 13, she posted her first tweet, writing "The Wait Is Ova. Nov 23 09." By writing the statement, which was also displayed on her official website, the songstress is believed to have announced the release date for her forthcoming album.
Earlier this year, Tricky Stewart, who produced "Umbrella" and has been slated to hit the studio with Rihanna this month, said the singer's fourth album could have been wrapped before the end of 2009. "I do believe it is [going to drop this year]. We're actually just getting started. I just wrote some records that I'm in love with this past week. Rihanna and I will be getting in the studio sometime in the next two weeks, so we actually have not recorded anything for her new album yet," she stated.
Beside Tricky, Rihanna has worked with several top-notch musicians, including
Justin Timberlake,
Drake,
Ne-Yo, and
Akon, on the follow up to her album, "Good Girl Gone Bad". Unfortunately, as of the press time, representative for the Barbadian beauty has not released any comment on the progress of her upcoming record.
Previously, Play.com claimed Rihanna's not-yet-titled album will be released on November 23. However, the news was never confirmed by the star.
