Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty in Gun Case, Faces One-Year Sentence in Jail
After fighting his gun case for almost two years, has finally pleaded guilty in a New York City courthouse on Thursday morning, October 22. The musician entered the plea to felony gun possession as a part of a deal with prosecutors to avoid a jury handing down a stiffer sentence should his case go to trial.

Following his plea deal, Wayne will possibly face one-year sentence in prison. However, he will remain free under $30,000 bond until his sentencing begins in February 2010. Additionally, he must appear before Solomon on December 15, 2009 to revisit his bail.

Lil Wayne originally pleaded not guilty after being charged with criminal gun possession in July 2007 when police found a gun on his tour bus in Manhattan following a concert. In addition to the case, the Grammy-winning rapper also faces drug possession and weapons charges, which arose from a January 2008 arrest at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint. He is scheduled for a trial in Arizona on the felony and he has pleaded not guilty in that case.
