Ricky Gervais' involvement in upcoming 67th Annual Golden Globes will mark the first time the telecast has a host after fourteen years.

Ricky Gervais gets a hosting job at the 67th Annual Golden Globes next year. His appearance at the event will make the first time the telecast has a host since 1995. Confirming Gervais' involvement in the upcoming show, Philip Berk, President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, said on Monday, October 26, "We are delighted to have Ricky Gervais as the host on our show."
After being announced to become part of the annual awards event, the 48-year-old actor claimed he is very excited to host the show, saying, "Not only is this the biggest Hollywood celebration of the industry, which includes both film and TV, but also an environment where I feel I can get free reign as a host." He then continued, "I have resisted many other offers like this, but there are just some things you don't turn down."
In related news, Ricky Gervais has taken home three prizes from Golden Globes. During the last year's event, his TV show "Extra" was honored as the best television comedy. As for the 67th Annual Golden Globes, it is going to be broadcast live on NBC from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles at 8:00 P.M. ET. Nominations are planned to be announced on December 15.
