The agent's office of Keira Knightley has confirmed that news on the actress landing a role in 'My Fair Lady' is 'not true' and they do not know anything about the upcoming movie's production.
Keira Knightley has not landed a role in "
My Fair Lady". Few days after U.K.'s Telegraph reported that she has beaten
Scarlett Johansson to play the major character in the remake of 1964 film with the same title, Gossip Cop has received a confirmation from her agent's office, who said the news was "not true."
Moreover, the agent's office claimed they knew nothing about the upcoming movie's production. Meanwhile, Keira's involvement in singing lessons, which has been linked to her preparation for joining the musical film, has been described as part of her forthcoming stage debut in a London production of a play entitled "The Misanthrope."
U.K.'s Telegraph was the first which came up with news that Keira Knightley has been chosen to portray Eliza Doolittle in the 2011 film. Moreover, the site reported that she will team up once again with director Joe Wright, with whom she worked together on "
Pride and Prejudice". "Joe and Keira are looking forward to working together again immensely," a friend of the helmer said.
As for the movie itself, "My Fair Lady" will revolve around simple Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle who is transformed into a lady. Actor
Daniel Craig, who has been linked to play Professor Henry Higgins, has not been slated to play the role while Emma Thompson is currently writing the script.
