It has been announced that Jay-Z and Alicia Keys will perform their hit track 'Empire State of Mind' at the game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday, October 28.
Audiences at game 1 of the World Series, which is going to be held at Yankee Stadium in New York City on Wednesday, October 28, will be entertained with live performance from
Jay-Z and
Alicia Keys. Before game between the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies is kicked off, the two R&B singers will rock to their hit single "Empire State of Mind".
Talking about his upcoming performance at the match, Jay-Z stated on Monday, October 26, "As a die-hard Yankee fan, I'm honored to perform a song that celebrates the greatness of New York in one of our city's most important landmarks, Yankee Stadium." Alicia, additionally, will sing the National Anthem at the game that will be aired on Fox at 7:30 P.M. ET.
About the song, "Empire State of Mind" is taken from Jay-Z's latest studio album "The Blueprint 3", which has been made available for purchase in the U.S. on September 8. Few days after the record was released, the
Beyonce Knowles' husband and Alicia Keys performed the song at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
