Disney star Miley Cyrus has been called the worst celebrity influence of 2009. According to a poll which has been conducted by AOL's JSYK.com (Just So You Know), the teen sensation took 42 percent votes by teenagers from 9 to 15 years old. In the category, she has beaten Britney Spears and Kanye West, who got the second and third places respectively.
Though there has been no further reason why Miley topped the list, Reuters claimed she secured the spot because she has controversially dated 20-year-old underwear model Justin Gaston. Additionally, she was once also spotted making "slant eyes" in an informal snapshot, which was later criticized as mocking Asians. Moreover, in August, she was slammed for pole dancing during her performance at 2009 Teen Choice Awards.
Contrary to Miley Cyrus, "Wizards of Waverly Place" star Selena Gomez was considered as the best celebrity influence of 2009. Additionally, the 17-year-old cutie, who was recently named the youngest UNICEF ambassador, was considered as the favorite female television star throughout this year.
