Rihanna has spoken up about the incident. She has opened up about her romance with the 20-year-old singer in an interview with Diane Sawyer that is scheduled to be aired on "Good Morning America" Thursday, November 5 and on "20/20" Friday, November 6.
Recalling the night when she was left bruised and battered by Chris, the Barbadian beauty said, "This happened to me ... It can happen to anyone." Rihanna, moreover, revealed that she felt really difficult to move on from the incident because she was totally in love with him. "He was definitely my first big love," she stated.
Rihanna was assaulted by Chris Brown on February 8, just hours before their scheduled performances at 2009 Grammy Awards. As a result, both of them were forced to skip the event. On August 25, the "I Can Transform Ya" hitmaker was officially sentenced to start his probation after he pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault against the 21-year-old songstress.
He has been sentencing to 5 years probation and spending 180 days of community service in his native Richmond, Virginia. Beside being ordered to come to court every three months during his probation, he has been asked not to contact the "Umbrella" songstress for the next five years.
