Rep Announces Jamelia's Separation From Hubby Darren Byfield

British songstress Jamelia has decided to end her marriage with footballer Darren Byfield for good. A representative for the R 'n' B singer has confirmed the couple's separation, mentioning that both Jamelia and Darren want to move forward apart.

"It is with regret that Jamelia and Darren Byfield today confirm they are splitting up and getting a divorce," the spokesperson said in a statement recently. "No-one else is involved. Their priority is naturally their two children."

While they were dating, Jamelia and Darren Byfield briefly broke up in August 2007. However, several months later, they rekindled their romance. Announcing their engagement in October the same year, the pair finally exchanged wedding vows in West Sussex on June 14, 2008. They have already had a daughter named Tiani Byfield, who was born on October 21, 2005. The "Superstar" hitmaker, additionally, has another daughter, Teja, from a previous relationship.

Aside from her personal life, Jamelia is said working on a new studio album that is planned to be available in the U.S. in 2010. Recently, one of her tracks, "Break It Down Tear It Up", hit the web. However, there has been no word on whether or not the single will be included in the record.
