It has been reported that the depicter of vampire Edward Cullen in "Twilight" film series, Robert Pattinson, lands a role as a mortal in "Bel Ami", an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's short story with the same title. Recently, Screen Daily claimed Nicole Kidman will team up with the British actor in the film. Soon afterwards, however, the news has been debunked by Gossip Cop.
According to the site, the actress did consider about getting involved in the upcoming movie project but has decided to turn down the opportunity due to scheduling conflict. Moreover, a representative for Nicole said that "Bel Ami" is "categorically not happening for her." Although Robert has not found his partner, the site assured that the 23-year-old hunk is still attached to the film and will play a cad.
"Bel Ami" will center on Georges Duroy, a man who rises to the top of Parisian high society in the 1890s by manipulating a series of powerful and wealthy mistresses. The drama movie will be directed by Declan Donnellan and produced by Uberto Pasolini in association with Redwave Films. Planned to be released in 2011, the film's production will be kicked off in February 2010 and take place in London, England and Budapest, India.
