Beside admitting that she knows nothing about any of Jay-Z's tracks, Miley Cyrus reveals she doesn't listen to pop music.
Though
Miley Cyrus has worked on several studio albums, it doesn't mean that she knows all genres of music and listens to lots of tracks. "I've never heard a
Jay-Z song," the teen sensation said on Saturday, October 31. She additionally revealed, "I don't listen to pop music."
Asked about the inspiration behind the making of her single "Party in the U.S.A", which recently secured the first position on the Top 40 charts, the "Hannah Montana" star said, "I don't know." Later, she continued talking about the track that was written by Dr. Luke, Claude Kelly, and Jessica Cornish, "I didn't write the song, so I have no idea."
"Honestly, I picked that song because I needed something to go with my clothing line," Miley elaborated. "I didn't write it and ... I didn't expect it to be popular, originally. It was just something that I wanted to do, and I needed some songs and it turned out for the best."
Claiming the song is not her style of music, the 16-year-old cutie has thanked God for its success. "I'm really blessed for it to have done as well as it has. Totally blessed. God has definitely put me in an amazing position with amazing people," she testified.
