Since her character will be eliminated from 'Melrose Place', Ashlee Simpson sets her acting career in Broadway for a six-week run in December.
Songstress/actress
Ashlee Simpson may have met her final in TV series "Melrose Place" and be called the worst actress, but it didn't stop her from showing more of her acting talent. In fact, she had signed on to play as Roxie Hart in Broadway production of "Chicago" for a six-week run starting in December.
This maybe Ashlee's first appearance in Broadway, but the role of Hart isn't that unfamiliar for the wife of
Fall Out Boy's
Pete Wentz. In 2006, she had take on the particular part for London's West End.
Talking about her role as Violet Foster in "Melrose Place", Ashlee previously told Access Hollywood, "Having the chance to play Violet on 'Melrose Place' has been a thrill. Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance." She continued, "Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of 'Melrose Place' for allowing me this opportunity."
Ashlee Simpson, the sister of
Jessica Simpson started off her career as a singer. Before going to "Melrose Place", Ashlee has starred in such film as "
The Hot Chick", and in other TV series, like "7th Heaven" and "CSI: NY".
