Katy Perry Inspires Ex-Boyfriend Travis McCoy to Pen Songs

Ideas for several songs in the upcoming debut solo album of the Gym Class Heroes' frontman come from his broken relationship with the 'Hot N Cold' hitmaker.

Katy Perry has inspired her ex-boyfriend Travis McCoy to write some songs in his upcoming debut solo album. Recently, the Gym Class Heroes' frontman told Angry Ape that he mentioned his break-up with the "I Kissed a Girl" hitmaker in several tracks off the record that will be outed sometime in 2010.

"Being in a relationship with Katy has inspired tracks. Any relationship you go through inspires something," Travis stated. Though he is no longer together with Katy, the 28-year-old wished her the best. "It is really not in my character to be nasty about anyone and I wish her luck. I do think I have better hair than Russell [Brand], though," he joked.

Katy Perry and Travis McCoy had been dating for more than a year before they called off their romance in December 2008. In April this year, the twosome rekindled their romance. Several months later, however, both of them decided to end their romance for good. Katy is currently dating British comedian Russell Brand.
