The representative for the 'Harry Potter' star is quick to shoot down the swirling rumor, insisting 'Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this.'
Cold water has been poured down on the rumor that
Daniel Radcliffe was caught smoking weed at a private party. Responding to the allegation made by Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, the representative for the "Harry Potter" star, Scott Boute, was quick to throw denial by issuing a statement on Friday, November 13.
"We categorically deny the allegations regarding Daniel Radcliffe published in today's Daily Mirror," Boute insisted, as quoted by E! News. "Daniel does smoke the occasional roll-up cigarette, but he was not doing anything more than this. We are considering our position and will be taking all necessary action in relation to such allegations."
Earlier on the day, featured on its front page a picture of Radcliffe with the headline calling him Harry Pothead. The publication went on to tell that the 20-year-old was caught smoking pot at a friend's house-warming bash in Camden, North London and was even overheard saying "I love weed".
Mirror continued by quoting a fellow guest at the party, Wadia Tazi, as she described the actor's state at the party. "He looked spaced out and didn't look like he knew what was going on," she said. "He pulled out a huge joint and lit up. Daniel said he loved it." She added that Daniel was so high that he let one of the partygoers draw on his face with a pen and laughed at it.
Daniel Radcliffe was recently seen reprising his role as Harry Potter in the July-released "
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". He is currently involved in the production of the installment of the seventh and final book of "Harry Potter" series, which is made into two movies, "
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I" and "
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II".
