Taylor Swift Chooses to Be Single

'I've never thought it was a curse to be single,' says the 'Fearless' hitmaker when confirming that she prefers staying unattached to romancing a guy.

It seems that Taylor Swift wants to shoot down report of her romancing "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" hottie Taylor Lautner. Speaking in an interview with InStyle magazine, the young country music songstress says she prefers staying single to having a boyfriend.

"I've never thought it was a curse to be single," the 19-year-old tells the publication's December issue, which will hit newsstands on Friday, November 20. "At this point in my life, I'm in the mind-set where I choose to be single - like I got to light scented candles and write in my diary and I wouldn't have time for that if I had a boyfriend right now!"

In the same interview, Swift also shares about her closeness to Lautner during the filming of Garry Marshall's movie "Valentine's Day". She states, "He and I have gotten really close. It would be confusing on the set with two Taylors in the same scene. They were like, 'Taylor, on your mark - no, not you, the other one!' So halfway through the shoot, I said, 'How about you guys call me Swifty and call him Taylor?' "

News that Taylor Swift could be having a special relationship with Taylor Lautner first emerged in October. At her Chicago concert, she was caught embracing him. Though her representative insisted that the pair was just friends, romance rumor refused to go away since they have been spotted for several times stepping out together.
