The country singing sensation has reportedly attached herself to a copyright infringement lawsuit led by BMI against a sports bar in Idaho.
Taylor Swift brings legal charges against a little sports bar in Idaho for unlicensed music. Being the first to break the news was TMZ, which claimed that the 19-year-old country crooner has attached herself to a copyright infringement lawsuit launched by Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) after a sting operation reveals that the bar plays her music without paying her.
A lawyer connected to the case reportedly has mentioned that The Sports Cellar, the sued bar, was found playing the singer's songs in addition to other music illegally last year. TMZ further reported that the illegal songs were used for karaoke. Swift and BMI thus are suing for unspecified damages.
Taylor Swift has recently swept all of the four titles she was nominated for, including the Entertainer of the Year and the Female Vocalist of the Year titles, at the 43rd Annual CMA Awards on November 11. Prior to the awards show, she was surprised backstage during the event's dress rehearsals with another prize, an International Artist Achievement Award, making her CMA trophy collections this year to five in total.
