Songstress Leighton Meester revealed that she has teamed up with rapper Lil Wayne on her song "Make It Rain."
"Gossip Girl" star
Leighton Meester revealed that she has hooked up with famous rapper
Lil Wayne. The two has worked together in a song called "Make It Rain". Meester and Weezy met a few month ago when they presented the award for Best Song From a Movie at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards.
"I sent him a couple of my songs," the 23-year-old recalled how she successfully recruited the multiple Grammy-winning artist to make a duet with her when met by MTV News before performing at the new American Eagle store in Time Square on November 17. "He's been diggin' on them for a while. Then he heard ['Make It Rain'], and he was like, 'All right, I'm gonna kill it!'"
Unlike some other artists who record their duet tracks separately, Meester and Weezy chose to hit studio together. "It was like, literally, 4 o'clock in the morning. He was so sick - he didn't even write anything down. He just, like, vibed to the music and dance. I don't even know how he does it, he's amazing," she shared.
When talking more about her collaborator, the star of "The Haunting of Sorority Row" has nothing but good words. "He's so talented and very funny. And really optimistic, and super supportive of me, which I've really, really appreciated so much," she said of Weezy.
Previously, Leighton Meester has joined forces with
Cobra Starship on the band's single "Good Girls Go Bad." She has also teamed up with
Robin Thicke in her debut single "Somebody to Love" off her upcoming self-titled album "Leighton Meester", which is scheduled to be released sometime in 2010.
