Having swapped his first single from the intended 'It's Only' to new track 'My Best Days Are Ahead of Me', the singer who finished third on season eight of 'American Idol' gives fans a listen.
Danny Gokey has finally followed the footsteps of his fellow "American Idol" season eight alums by making available a listen to his first single "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me". This fresh material isn't originally set to be the lead single of his upcoming debut album, but USA Today reported that RCA Records Nashville has decided to go with the track instead of going with "It's Only".
A portion of this song has been showcased live during his performance in Los Angeles for TV station KTLA. Speaking about "My Best Days", the singer who finished third on season eight of "AI" said, "I love this song for what it stands for. I don't live in the past. I live in the 'now' ... in the future ... and in the dreams that I have. I know that my best days really are ahead of me."
"My Best Days Are Ahead of Me" was written by Marv Green and Kent Blazy. To be put out in country radios soon, it will be made available for digital download on December 22. Danny Gokey's debut album, in the meantime, is targeted for March 2010 U.S. release.
While Gokey is working on his first effort, two of his fellow "AI" contestants are awaiting for the release of their own sets. Adam Lambert is scheduled to release his first album, "For Your Entertainment", in the U.S. on November 23, while Allison Iraheta will put out her record, "Just Like You", on December 1. "AI" winner Kris Allen, however, has unleashed his self-titled album "Kris Allen" across the country on November 17.
