'Hopefully these tracks on The Refill will tide the fans over until we put out Relapse 2 next year,' the hip-hop artist explains on the reason why he comes out with the re-release of 'Relapse'.
Eminem will put out "Relapse: Refill", a re-release of his chart-topping fifth studio album "Relapse", in stores across the U.S. on December 21. Through a press release issued on Thursday, November 19, the rapper shared his reason, "I want to deliver more material for the fans this year like I originally planned."
The 37-year-old additionally explained that the release of the re-packaged is done to fill the gape between "Relapse" and its sequel "Relapse 2", which is yet to have its release date but is slated for release in 2010. He noted, "Hopefully these tracks on The Refill will tide the fans over until we put out Relapse 2 next year".
On the work he did after the release of "Relapse", he opened up, "I got back in with [Dr.] Dre and then a few more producers, including Just Blaze, and went in a completely different direction which made me start from scratch. The new tracks started to sound very different than the tracks I originally intended to be on 'Relapse 2', but I still want the other stuff to be heard."
"Relapse: Refill" will contain seven bonus tracks. One of the new songs is "Forever", which features Drake,
Kanye West and
Lil Wayne and can be found on the "More Than a Game" soundtrack. Another one is a song entitled "Taking My Ball", which was released in "DJ Hero Renegade" double-disc album.
