Justin Bieber Addresses Chaotic Mall Appearance in Long Island
'The event at roosevelt mall is cancelled. please go home ... I dont want anyone hurt,' the 'One Time' hitmaker announces, promising that he will 'make it up to them soon.'
has addressed the stampede that erupted at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, New York on Friday, November 20. Taking to his Twitter page, he wrote, "The event at roosevelt mall is cancelled. please go home. the police have already arrested one person from my camp. I dont want anyone hurt."

The 15-year-old went on, "Im sorry to everyone who was in Long Island at the Mall 2day. I was just trying to come meet fans and never meant to dissapoint anyone." He further wrote in another post, "Today was crazy. feel awful about letting fans down. I tried to get there but they wouldnt let me in."

On November 20, more than 1,000 girls gathered at the mall, waiting for the arrival of the Canadian pop star who was scheduled for album signing and performing some songs from newly released "My World" at tween clothing store Justice. At about 2:30 P.M., the crowd grew very big and unwieldy so Nassau County police had to be called in for crowd control.

The situation went worse when someone falsely screamed out that Justin was inside a store, TMZ reported. Thus, a flood of young kids soon rushed into the venue, allegedly causing lots of fights. As a result, a girl had to be sent to a hospital and the senior vice president for sales at Def Jam Records, James Roppo, got arrested.

Expressing its regret due to the incident, the "One Time" hitmaker's label Island Records has issued a statement. "Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, 15 year old pop singing sensation Justin Bieber was forced to cancel today's CD signing at the Justice store at Roosevelt Mall in Long Island," so the statement was begun.

"Over 10,000 screaming fans showed up and the police and fire marshall concluded it was an unsafe environment and prohibited the event from taking place," the statement continued to read. "Justin made every effort to enter the mall but was turned away by the police. Justin appreciates his fans and promises to make it up to them soon."
