Eva Mendes Exposes Cruelty of Fur Trade for PETA

In two newly-released videos, the Hollywood beauty can be seen speaking out against wearing fur as she takes viewers to the behind the scenes of international fur trade.

Being one of PETA's loyal supporters in its campaign against fur, Eva Mendes once again lends her fame to enlighten people about the cruelty of fur industry. The 35-year-old recently takes the role of a host to the animal rights organization's new fur industry expose, and through two new videos debuted on Monday, November 23, she speaks out against wearing fur.

One of the videos features her taking viewers to the behind the scenes of the international fur trade as she narrates the footage of PETA's latest investigation over the fur farms and markets in China. The Sand Saref of "The Spirit" introduces the video saying, "Millions of animals are killed for their pelts each year. The thing is, I didn't always know how animals were killed for their fur, and I even wore fur once myself."

"But when I learned how cruel the fur industry is - and that there are no laws protecting these animals - I swore that I'd never wear it again," she continues on before inviting people to see how cruel the fur trade can be. "Please join me today as we go behind the scenes of the international fur trade, and find out how you can look glamorous without supporting animal suffering."

The co-star of Nicolas Cage in "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" further explains the reason why she is determined to support the cause. "At a time when there is so much violence in the world, this is one type of violence that all of us can help stop - by being informed consumers," so she states.

Eva Mendes joins other celebrities who have lent their famous faces to speak out against wearing fur, including Charlize Theron, Christina Applegate, Pamela Anderson, and "The Twilight Saga's New Moon" actress Christian Serratos. She has posed naked for a PETA's ad back in 2007.
