The 1980s-themed bash, which was also attended by Miley's famous brother
Trace Cyrus, featured a performance by the cast of Broadway play's "Rock of Ages". About the party, a source close to the Disney star said, "The whole thing was a surprise."
In a pic obtained by OceanUp, Miley was snapped donning a black tank top matched with hot pants and boots when standing next to her birthday cake. Of the cake itself, it was created by Buddy Valastro, the star of TLC's show "Cake Boss".
"They didn't want a girly girl cake," Valastro said of the vanilla cake with
Madonna-inspired lace, a stage and accents in the "Hannah Montana" actress' favorite color, purple. "It totally fit the theme. It was really awesome."
This is not the first time Miley Cyrus celebrated her birthday in 1980s theme. Back in 2007, she celebrated her 15th birthday with the same theme. "She loves the '80s," her mom Tish Cyrus at the time told People. "The fashion, the big hair - she thinks it's so funky."
