Sofia Vergara, the star of the new hit comedy from ABC, brings to light the fact that she is trying to convince the 'She Wolf' singer to take part in the show.

Shakira showcases her acting chop as she is wanted to take part in ABC's other TV series, "Modern Family". Giving the low-down on the intention to get the Columbian singer for the comedy series was the Gloria Delgado-Pritchett depicter, Sofia Vergara.
Talking to Marc Malkin of E! Online at 2009 American Music Awards on Sunday, November 22, the 37-year-old actress confessed, "I'm trying to convince her to act. Hopefully, she'll say yes." When E! suggested that the "She Wolf" singer should play her sister on the show, she responded, "Why not! We'll write a character especially for her if she wants to do it."
"Modern Family" is mockumentary comedy TV series which was premiered on ABC on September 23. Created by Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan, it revolves around the families of Jay Pritchett, his daughter Claire Dunphy, and his son Mitchell Pritchett. Ed O'Neill, Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson are among the cast ensemble.
Shakira has been announced to play herself in an upcoming episode of "Ugly Betty" in late September. ABC representative told E! back when that the two time Grammy-winning singer "will be shooting her scenes in New York, but they will [appear] in the Bahamas episode - which will most likely air in November."
Of her cameo in the show, show runner Silvio Horta told People, "We had a very memorable moment in the third episode where Betty has a makeover that goes wrong and she struts down the street to 'Hips Don't Lie'." He went on praising the singer, "She's an enormous Latina icon, as is Betty, and we thought it was a perfect fit."
