The 30-year-old actress pays no attention on the controversy surrounding her decision in allowing her 3-year-old daughter wears high heels, claiming the toddler likes them.
Katie Holmes insisted that the decision to put her 3-year-old daughter Suri on high heels is simply because Suri loves it. At Dizzy Feet Foundation at the Kodak Theater on November 29, the
Tom Cruise's wife defended her decision for putting Suri on high heels, saying that the footwear is actually supportive and healthy for toddler.
To Access Hollywood, Katie said of her daughter's fascination to high heels. "She, like every little girl - she loves my high heels," the actress shared, before adding that the high heels Suri was seen wearing were made for kids. "They are actually ballroom dancing shoes for kids," she explained. "I found them for her and she loves them."
In a different occasion, Katie shared that her little Suri, who has been snapped several times walking on high heels, might have a bright career in the future like her parents. She revealed to Extra, "She loves dancing and singing and she's just a joy - she loves it all."
While Katie seems to not troubled with the idea of Suri wearing the stylish footwear, many complained that high heels could be detrimental to Suri's physical development. Speaking about the effect high heels have, New York podiatrist Dr. Oliver Zong told Fox News, "A common side effect of adults wearing heels too often is the tightening or shortening of the Achilles tendon."
Katie Holmes' appearance at the Dizzy Feet event is aimed to support the organization she founded along with Nigel Lythgoe, Adam Shankman and Carrie Ann Inaba. During the event that supports underprivileged young people in realizing their dreams of becoming professional dancers, Katie said, "I've been a fan of dancing my whole life. I met with Nigel and he asked me if I wanted to be a part this� in starting this."
