Florida Highway Patrol officials stated that there are no sufficient evidences which support any other charges of any kind except that Woods was being a reckless driver.
Tiger Woods is charged for careless driving by Florida Highway Patrol officials for his solo car accident on November 27. At a press conference on December 1, FHP spokesman Major Cindy Williams stated, "The investigation has determined that Mr. Woods is at fault in the crash. This afternoon, FHP is in the process of issuing a uniform traffic citation for careless driving to Mr. Woods."
FHP concluded that there was no sufficient evidence for any criminal charges as news previously reported that Woods and his wife Erin Nordegren were involved in an altercation before the accident. Nordegren was rumored scratching Woods' face up after hearing her husband was seeing another woman, a New York night club waitress named Rachel Uchitel, while he was in Australia.
On the crash investigation, another spokeswoman Kim Montes said, "The FHP is not pursing criminal charges in this matter, nor is there any testimony or any other evidence to support any other charges of any kind, other than the charge of careless driving." She explained further, "There is insufficient evidence available to issue a subpoena for any additional medical information that might exist in this case .. [and] there are no claims of domestic violence by any individual."
Although Woods refused to give any statement and had declined three times to meet with the investigators, his attorney Mark NeJame is satisfied with the result. He asserted, "We're pleased with the outcome. I've got no further comment except: it's over." Being charged for careless driving, Woods has to pay $164 fine and gets four points on his driving record.
Tiger Woods was involved in a single vehicle accident at 2:25 A.M outside his Florida mansion. Driving his 2009 Cadillac, he hit the fire hydrant before slamming the car to a tree. Woods was left injured with lacerations on his face, and was allegedly unconscious. Police Chief Daniel Saylor mentioned that Nordegren smashed the back window with a golf club to get Woods out. A moment later, Woods was taken to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee.
