The 'Shame for You' singer has confirmed that she will take a break from music for one or two years after her tour ends at O2 Arena in London in March 2010.
Lily Allen has confirmed that in 2010, she will take a temporary hiatus from performing and recording music for one or two years. On December 2, the "Smile" singer told BBC Newsbeat, "My last gig is my
Dizzee Rascal concert at the O2 (London) in March. That's the last thing I've got planned."
While taking her break, Lily said that she will "concentrate on doing some behind-the-scenes sort of stuff." She went on to say that she will not entirely quit from music industry because she is planning to launch her own record label. "I'm going to get into signing new bands, but at a really early level. I don't want to compete with other record companies, but I want to support new artists," she explained.
Lily also shared about her plan with her sister, Sarah, in setting up a fashion rental store called "Lucy In Disguise" in London. On this matter, the 24-year-old singer stated, "It's about making fashion democratic." She added, "It's about getting really nice clothes, but letting people rent them for affordable prices so they can go out and feel like a million dollars and it won't cost them a million dollars."
Lily Allen released her second album "It's Not Me, It's You" in February this year. Her tour in U.K. will be started on December 8, 2009 and ended in March 2010. She will perform in some cities, including Liverpool, Nottingham, Cardiff, Brighton, Manchester, and London.
