The 17-year-old will fill in for the runner-up of 'American Idol' season 8 on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' since Lambert's appearance on the December 17 show has been cancelled.
Following the cancellation of
Adam Lambert's scheduled appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", his fellow contestant on "American Idol" season 8
Allison Iraheta will perform in his place. Through its Twitter account, the show announced the replacement. "Coming up on December 17th we've got Allison Iraheta scheduled for a concert," so the post read.
The announcement of Iraheta being the replacement for Lambert came on Wednesday, December 2, soon after ABC suddenly canceled Lambert's performance. Announcing the cancellation, a representative for the network told Entertainment Weekly, "We decided not to move forward with the booking at this time."
While the spokesperson declined to say whether or not the axing has anything to do with the controversy over the 27-year-old's racy performance at 2009 American Music Awards, Lambert mentioned that ABC possibly got pressure from Federal Communications Commission. Taking to his Twitter page on December 2, he wrote, "Yes, sadly friends, ABC has cancelled my appearances on Kimmel and NYE. :( don't blame them. It's the FCC heat."
Adam Lambert was initially due to perform in an outdoor concert during his appearance on the
Jimmy Kimmel's talk show on Thursday, December 17.
