Paramount Pictures announces that the Jacob Black of 'Twilight Saga' series will play Max Steel, who has an 19-year-old alter ego named Josh McGrath, in the action movie.

Max Steel" has been confirmed. On Friday, December 4, Paramount Pictures told that the Jacob Black of "Twilight Saga" film series has officially signed on to play lead character Max Steel on the film which eyes 2012 release date.
As Max, Lautner will portray a crime-fighting superhero. The character's alter ego is Josh McGrath, a 19-year-old extreme-sports athlete whose life takes a turn after he is injured during a brawl at a top-secret lab. McGrath obtains his superpowers after some nano-machines heal his wounds.
"Max Steel" isn't Taylor Lautner's first superhero movie. Before winning a lot of fans with his werewolf role Jacob in "
Twilight" and its sequel "
The Twilight Saga's New Moon", the 17-year-old has starred as Sharkboy in 2005 movie "
The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3-D".
