On her Twitter account, the 23-year-old tweeted that so far, she has helped 40 children while filming documentary movie with BBC in Behar, India.
Lindsay Lohan shows she is more than a party girl as she recently tweeted that she has so far helped 40 children while doing a charity work in India. On December 9, the "
Georgia Rule" star wrote on her Twitter page, "Over 40 children saved so far ... Within one day's work ... This is what life is about ... Doing THIS is a life worth living !!!".
"Oh, and I'm talking about being in India," Lindsay in addition tweeted. The 23-year-old beauty further expressed her excitement "about escaping the drama of LA and doing something real," she wrote, "Focusing on celebrities and lies is so disconcerting, when we can be changing the world one child at a time.... hope everyone can see that."
Lindsay is currently in India to film BBC's documentary which focuses on women and children's trafficking in Behar. On her thoughts about trafficking, she posted, "Trafficking is a big issue here, I'm [here to do] what I can, and I will continue to do so as long as life when time permits it. I'm only one person. Let's not start judging and looking for negatives that don't exist."
BBC's spokesman explained the actress involvement earlier as quoted by Telegraph, "Lindsay is involved in a project for BBC Three which will be announced shortly." As for the purpose of her trip, an insider told Life & Style, "Lindsay is trying to better herself and get away from her party-girl image. She wants to be taken more seriously."
Aside from her charity work, Lindsay Lohan will be seen portraying the role of April in an upcoming movie "
Machete". In the big screen project, she will star opposite
Robert De Niro, Danny Trejo,
Jessica Alba,
Michelle Rodriguez and
Steven Seagal. The movie itself will be released in the U.S. in 2010.
