Asked if her 'Cowboy Casanova' single is about her quarterback ex-boyfriend, the 'American Idol' alum lays down the fact that she won't give him the credit for breaking her heart.
Carrie Underwood apparently is still bitter about her break-up with
Tony Romo. In a recent interview with Esquire magazine, the winner of "American Idol" season 4 revealed that she will never make a song based on the particular former boyfriend of hers because he isn't worth penning a tune about.
Her harsh words on the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback came out when she was asked whether "Cowboy Casanova", the lead single off her third studio album "Play On", is about Romo. To the question, she was quick to respond with "No. I would never immortalize a guy that did me wrong. I would never give him that much credit."
Tony Romo isn't the only man she dissed during the interview. The 26-year-old also shared her thought on "American Idol" judge
Simon Cowell who is famed with his earsplitting comments. "Simon's obviously very smart," she first praised the TV personality. She, however, went on to say, "But he's not the smartest person I know."
Carrie Underwood started dating Tony Romo in May 2007. They were rumored to be dating off and on throughout the year. Post her break-up with the athlete, she romanced "Gossip Girl" hunk
Chace Crawford. However, their relationship ended in March 2008. The country singer is currently dating professional hockey player Mike Fisher.
