When attending In Style/Hollywood Foreign Press party, the Pam Halpert of the NBC series blames the Winter Olympics for pushing back the due date of her character.
Pam Halpert of "The Office" is due to give birth to her child with Jim in February 2010, but fans of the show won't see any baby until March.
Jenna Fischer, the actress behind the character, revealed the matter when Kristin Dos Santos of E! Online caught up with her at In Style/Hollywood Foreign Press party on Tuesday, December 8.
As for the reason behind the pushing back of the due date, the Emmy Award-nominated actress holds the upcoming Winter Olympics responsible. The 35-year-old laid bare the fact in her own words, "Pam was supposed to be due in February, but now the baby won't come until March because of the Olympics."
The 21st Winter Olympics will be held from February 12 to 28, 2010 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and will be aired on NBC. The winter multi-sport event, which is held every four years, will be the third Olympics hosted by Canada, but the first one by the province of British Columbia.
"The Office" will return to small screen on Thursday, December 10 with a Christmas special episode titled "Secret Santa". Michael is outraged when Jim allows Phyllis to be Santa at the office Christmas party. Jim and Dwight, in the meantime, try to get everyone into the holiday spirit despite the uncertainty with Dunder Mifflin, and Oscar has a secret crush.
