The Dr. Gregory House of the drama series is going to direct the show's 17th episode, which will be aired in March 2010 and confirmed to be an untraditional episode.
Hugh Laurie is going to step behind the camera to direct one particular episode of "House M.D." According to , the actor who is known as Dr. Gregory House on the drama series will direct the 6th season's 17th episode. The episode itself is scheduled to be aired in March 22, 2010.
The site additionally informed that Hugh will start shooting for the episode in January 2010. Giving confirmation about the news was the show's executive producer Katie Jacobs, who said, "He starts prep when we get back [from the holiday break]." Though the plot of the episode has yet to be disclosed, Katie hinted that "it's not a traditional episode."
The directing duty won't be the first time for the 40-year-old, but it will mark his debut in helming the hit Fox show. Of the reason why the show chose Hugh to helm the episode, Katie revealed, "Hugh has been there since day one through every single episode, so he's phenomenally smart and his instincts are [impeccable]. This is going to be great for morale. Because there's no one that the cast and crew and the writers want to work harder for than our leader."
Before getting the directing duty on "House M.D.", Hugh Laurie helmed three episodes of U.K. TV show "Fortysomething" in 2003. He once also directed some scenes on comedy series "Maybe Baby" and TV mini-series "Look at the State We're In!"
