Jake Gyllenhaal to Propose to Reese Witherspoon

Despite rumor suggesting that the two broke up recently, the 29-year-old actor is reportedly going 'to pop the question' to Reese over the holidays.

Jake Gyllenhaal could be presenting girlfriend Reese Witherspoon a special ring this Christmas. Contrary to the swirling break-up rumor recently, an insider revealed to Pop Eater that Jake is planning to propose to the "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde" star.

"Jake is planning to pop the question over the holidays and couldn't be more excited," the source claimed. "Her children love him, his family loves her, and now it's time to make it official." On why Jake plans a holiday proposal, the insider explained, "Reese is traditional sort of lady, which is one of the many things Jake adores about her. Christmas is her favorite holiday."

Jake and Reese were rumored to have ended their two-year romance back in late November. The rumor first spread out when a source close to the 33-year-old actress told People that the Hollywood couple has gone their separate ways. But, their representatives were quick to deny the speculation, stating "They are still together."

Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon first met when the two played in movie "Rendition" in 2007. They were soon romantically linked although they denied it at the time. After Reese's divorce from former husband Ryan Phillippe was finalized however, she and Jake were being more open about their relationship.
