A taste of how Ridley Scott will present his version of Robin Hood has come out in the form of a first trailer, presenting a look at Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett.
Russell Crowe will be one bad-ass prince of thieves in "Robin Hood". As the first trailer to the action-packed movie is brought forth by Coming Soon, glimpses of the 45-year-old actor portraying the expert archer are shared, showing him bursting out from the water with sword in hand and leading his band of marauders to a battle.
The Academy Award-winning actor has been explained to channel his "Gladiator" character to his Robin Hood for this movie. Of it, producer Brian Grazer told USA Today, "He doesn't have the old Robin Hood tights. He's got armor. He's very medieval. He looks, if anything, more like he did in Gladiator than anything we're used to seeing with Robin Hood."
"Robin Hood" itself is the working title given for the Ridley Scott-directed adventure film which was once named "Nottingham". In addition to Russell Crowe, it has Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian and Mark Strong as Sir Godfrey. Universal Pictures will distribute this movie in theaters across the U.S. on May 14, 2010.
While Coming Soon unveiled the first trailer, The Courier-Mail unleashed several new stills from the movie. Two of them present Robin riding a horse followed by his gang which possesses lethal mercenary skills. Another one gives out first real look at Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian.
