A-Rod Allegedly Stays With Kate Hudson For Publicity Sake

A source close to Alex Rodriguez explains that the baseball player actually wanted to end his romance with the actress a month ago, but didn't want to disrupt her promotional events for 'Nine'.

Alex Rodriguez apparently wanted to end his romance with Kate Hudson long before it actually took place, but he reportedly chose to stay with her for publicity reason. "Alex wanted to end this relationship well over a month ago," a source close to the baseball player explained to Us Magazine.

The source went on to say that although A-Rod wanted to call it quits, he didn't want to disrupt the Academy Awards-nominated actress' premieres and promotional events for new film "Nine". "He felt that would be counterproductive and unfair to her," so reasoned the insider over the postponing of the break-up between the two.

As for the reason behind the split, the source unraveled that A-Rod was turnoff by Hudson's thirst for publication. "[Hudson] wanted more camera time each and every game," the insider said. "She would always want to be styled before games and she'd insist on front-row seats. It was a turnoff to have a girlfriend who always wanted to be on camera. Alex wanted someone who was more interested in building a long-term relationship than just building their profile."

Additionally, the so-called friend revealed that Hudson gave A-Rod "an ultimatum" to "fast track" the relationship. "He's just coming off of a 13-year relationship with his ex-wife and a recent divorce," the pal said. "He has two lovely children with his ex-wife, and that requires a certain amount of responsibility. She gave him ultimatums that a newly divorced father can't meet."

Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez were reported to have ended their six-month romance just recently. While there is yet confirmation from both sides on the truth of the story, A-Rod's friend claimed that it was ended amicably. "They're two mature adults," the pal stated. "She did take the relationship seriously, and he has a lot of respect for her. They had some really wonderful times together."
