'You'll get the chance to hear what's going on in my head right now and a little ... more personal,' the singer-slash-actor opens up when talking about his plan for new effort.
Having released three studio albums so far,
Jesse McCartney apparently is ready to share more personal matters as he prepares for a new effort. When discussing about his yet-to-be-titled effort with MTV, the 22-year-old promised, "You'll get the chance to hear what's going on in my head right now and a little ... more personal."
Pressed further about the "personal" stuff, the singer who is voicing Theodore in "
Alvin and the Chipmunks" shared about dealing with success at such a young age. "Well, a lot of stuff that's going on in my personal life and my family life - just what it's like having all this success now at the age of 22, kind of dealing with it and what that's like," so he said.
Jesse kept much of the album details in secret, saying "I just started, so there's not much to tell." Still, he teased on what to expect from the album, "It's gonna be kind of a continuation of Departure, but maybe a little more R&B slightly." He added, "It's a little bit more raw. But still rhythmic and upbeat. It's still soulful. I'm still kind of writing it all out. I don't want to give too much away."
During the interview, he also shared his hope of teaming up with
Ludacris once again. "I know that I might work with Ludacris again. That's maybe a possibility, and he's great - he's one of my favorite rappers .. and he's amazing to work with." Still, he said that collaborations "always come together last-minute."
Jesse McCartney had worked together with Ludacris for the remix of song "How Do You Sleep?" off his third album "". He plans on releasing his follow-up to "Departure" in 2010. In the meantime, he will be heard voicing Theodore once again in "
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel".
