A preview of the 15-year-old covering Stevie Wonder's song 'Someday at Christmas' at the special event is outed just days before his full performance will be televised on Sunday, December 20.
Justin Bieber's performance at "Christmas in Washington" concert will not be aired until Sunday, December 20, but a sneak peek to his stage act has hit the web on Tuesday, December 15. In a more-than-one-minute clip released via YouTube, the Canadian singer is seen serenading Stevie Wonder's song "Someday at Christmas".
Backing him up during his performance were a choir. Before Justin took the stage to perform the track, host George Lopez said, "Like you, Mr. President, this young man has many fans trying to shake his hand without permission." Beside performing solo, the 15-year-old also has a duet with rapper Usher. The title of the duet song is not disclosed, though.
In addition to Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blige, Rob Thomas, Neil Diamond, and Sugarland also participated at the concert, which took place at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. on Sunday, December 13. Set to be broadcast on TNT at 8:00 ET/PT, the gig aimed to help the Children's National Medical Center in Washington.
Invited to be special guests at the event were President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama. During his speech, the president of the U.S. encouraged the audience to help other people as well as remember those who are in the military. He said, "With our men and women in uniform serving far from home, in harm's way, our fervent wish remains this season, and all seasons: Let there be peace on earth."
