Beyonce Knowles' Parents Divorce Not About Affairs

While some speculated that infidelity could be behind the reason Tina Knowles filing for divorce from her husband, a source close to the Knowles family clarifies the two simply drifted apart.

Beyonce Knowles' mother Tina Knowles allegedly didn't file for divorce from Mathew Knowles because of infidelity as what has been suggested. Us Magazine has come out with a scoop from a source close to the Knowles family who insisted that the filing of divorce petition "really wasn't about affairs."

Confirming that the divorce news is true, the so-called family friend further mentioned that the couple simply "drifted apart" and led "busy, separate lives." Mathew manages the music careers of daughters Beyonce and Solange Knowles, while Tina is the creative director of Beyonce's House of Dereon fashion line.

As for how the end of the 29 years marriage is affecting the family, the source shared, "It's a rough time for the family - especially over the holidays." The pal, in addition, detailed, "The kids are sad, but it's been unraveling for some time."

Court papers unraveled that Tina submitted her divorce papers in Harris County, Texas on November 11. While Tina didn't cite any official reason for terminating the union, the papers uncovered that the couple "ceased to live together as husband and wife on or about January 5, 2009" as TMZ reported.

The filing for divorce from 55-year-old Tina came about a month after a pregnant woman named Alexsandra Wright filed a paternity suit against 58-year-old Mathew back in October. Some speculated that the suit is likely to be the real reason behind the separation. No word has been shared from neither Beyonce Knowles nor her parents and sister.
