The 17-year-old singer reveals that she has bought a little German Shepherd recently and decides to name the puppy Mate, the same Australian slang word she uses to call her rumored boyfriend.

Liam Hemsworth. The 17-year-old told Take40, "I just bought a little German Shepherd and I named it 'Mate' because I always say 'mate' now to Liam. So that's my little German Shepherd dog's name."
On how she came up with the word, Miley revealed that she found it from an Australian slang words' book which she got from Liam. After hearing the 19-year-old actor used the term, she decided to call him and her new dog, Mate.
"Liam actually went to Australia and then came back. The first night he came back - I had gotten really sick - he brought me back a book to make me laugh, of all the lingo," Miley shared. "He was like, 'I've never heard half of this stuff but some of it's pretty funny!'"
Finding out new things about Australia, the "Party in the U.S.A" hitmaker further revealed that she wants to perform there in the future. She gushed, "It's really funny how different yet alike America and Australia are. I think we expect, because it's so far away, to be so different. I can't wait to go sometime, I'd love to perform there."
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have been romantically linked since they began filming "
The Last Song". On December 10, the pair fueled the rumor when they were seen walking hand-in-hand and also snapped making out during a night outing at the Champs-Elysees in Paris. However, the two still refused to confirm the nature of their relationship.
