The actress' grieving husband Simon Monjack comes out to throw cold water to the speculation that Murphy was self-destructive and linked to people who were bad influences on her.
A day after was pronounced dead on Sunday, December 20, her husband Simon Monjack came out to talk about her sudden passing. Having said "My world was destroyed yesterday," the British filmmaker went on to tell Access Hollywood on Monday, December 21, "She had laryngitis."

Monjack also opened up about the health condition of his actress wife before her untimely death. "She had been tired at the end of the year," he shared. "She had made a couple movies." Though so, Access mentioned that he didn't go on to provide details on whether or not Murphy had seen a doctor to treat the illness.

Describing the tragic day, Murphy's husband for two years stated that the morning started out as "regular day". But, when the "" actress took too long in the bathroom, her mother Sharon went to check on her. "Sharon went into the bathroom because she had been in there a long time," he recalled. "Her mom screamed for me and I ran. Then called 911."

On the occasion, Monjack also slammed reports that Murphy was self-destructive and linked to people who were bad influences on her. "I don't know why anyone would think that...She found love," he insisted. "We found love. Brittany didn't get to where Brittany was with anyone controlling her... Brittany was Brittany."

The screenwriter also commented on the Twitter post by Murphy's former boyfriend . "I loved what Ashton wrote on Twitter," he said. "It was comforting to me...I couldn't have said it better." Kutcher previously tweeted, "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany's family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon."

Brittany Murphy was found unconscious by her mother in the shower at her home on Sunday and was rushed her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center following a 911 call at 8 A.M. She was confirmed dead at 10:04 A.M. after the hospital staff at the Los Angeles' hospital tried to revive her three times. Autopsy on her body was completed on Monday, but the exact cause of death will not be known until toxicology tests are finished in four to six weeks.

"The Los Angeles County Department of Coroner conducted an autopsy on the body of Brittany Anne Murphy-Monjack, age 32, on December 21, 2009," the statement from the Los Angeles County Coroner's office read. "The cause of death has been DEFERRED pending the receipt of additional toxicological tests and tissue studies that have been ordered by the deputy medical examiner."

"There will be no final ruling as to the cause and manner of death until all of the requested test results have been received and reviewed in context with the autopsy findings," it continued to explain. "It is anticipated that this process may take approximately 4 to 6 weeks or more. Anatomical findings show no evidence of trauma to the body."
