The Jenny Schecter of 'The L Word' has landed the recurring role of Isobel, the sweet-yet-dangerous wife of Alaric, in The CW's teen drama series.
Mia Kirshner may well be among the dead of "The Vampire Diaries". Hours after Entertainment Weekly (EW) broke the news that the 34-year-old actress is joining the cast of The CW's popular series on a recurring basis, E! Online came out with a scoop suggesting that her character Isobel may not be alive.
Confirming EW's report that the star of "The L Word" will take on the role of the sweet-yet-dangerous wife of Alaric, E!'s Kristin Dos Santos reported that the actress' scenes won't take place in the present day. Instead, her part will be presented as flashbacks. Dos Santos, additionally, cited her sources as suggesting that Isobel "died at the hands of a main character" fans already know.
"The Vampire Diaries" was last seen gracing the small screen on November 19. It has since fallen into an 8-week hiatus. It will make its return with a new episode entitled "Bloodlines" on January 21, 2010. The particular episode will mark the debut of Kirshner as Isobel.
"Stefan and Damon's long lost sister, Maria comes for a visit and seeks revenge," the synopsis for the episode read. "It is up to the brothers to stop her before the truth is out. The mysterious man Elena meets on the road reveals that he is a vampire, and Elena is bitten by him, which Stefan learns later, forcing him into revenge against the unknown killer. A new witch comes to town, Alyssa."
