Jake Gyllenhaal's Parents End Marriage on Christmas Eve

Words are, director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter-slash-producer Naomi Foner are officially divorced on December 24 after 32 years of marriage.

Jake Gyllenhaal has been hit with another heartbreaking story. After being reported to have split from actress girlfriend Reese Witherspoon, TMZ broke the news that the actor's parents, director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter/producer Naomi Foner, have made their divorce official on Christmas Eve, December 24.

The site went on further to note there are no custody or child support issues due to the fact that both Jake and his actress sister Maggie Gyllenhaal are adults. Additionally, neither Stephen nor Naomi will receive spousal support. The two who have been married for 32 years also agreed to divide houses, furniture, cars jewelry and other assets.

Back in October 2008, Los Angeles court papers unraveled that Jake's mother Naomi has filed for divorce from husband Stephen. Mentioning that they had been separated since January 1, the Golden Globe-winning screenwriter cited irreconcilable differences as her reason behind the divorce. Later on, it was unraveled that the couple was in deep financial troubles.

Jake Gyllenhaal himself has recently split from Reese Witherspoon. Words are, the star of "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" was dumped by her over the phone in November after they "fought constantly in the past few months." So far, there are no official confirmation or denial of the break-up story from both parties.
