Avenged Sevenfold Announced Death of Drummer Jimmy Sullivan
Found lifeless in his Huntington Beach home on Monday, December 28, 28-year-old Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan is suspected to have died of natural causes.
has lost one of their band members, James Owen Sullivan aka Jimmy Sullivan. The rock band confirmed the death of the drummer who is known by stage name The Rev through a message posted on their official site on December 29. "It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan," so the message began.

"Jimmy was not only one of the world's best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother," the posting signed by remaining members, M Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance and Johnny Christ, continued to read. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time. Jimmy you are forever in our hearts. We love you."

According to the Orange County Register, the 28-year-old drummer was found dead in his Huntington Beach home in California at approximately 1 P.M. on Monday, December 28. Huntington Beach police Lt. John Domingo told the publication that the drummer appears to have died of natural causes. Nonetheless, Orange County coroner is still investigating the death.

While details on the circumstances of his death are yet to be disclosed, Jimmy Sullivan is known to have a history of drug abuse. When he passed away, the drummer who also serves as Avenged Sevenfold's backup singer, is reportedly working on the follow-up album to 2007's "Avenged Sevenfold" with the band.
