A look at the 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra' star as centurion Marcus Aquila in the historical adventure have been shared through first stills.
Channing Tatum is trading his high-tech accelerator suit with 2nd century Roman soldier's armor in "The Eagle of the Ninth", and first looks at him in the new costume have been shared through Yahoo! Movies. Six in total, the newly-released pictures from the historical movie give out first taste of the "
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" lead man as Marcus Aquila.
Some of the photos see Tatum riding a horse, boarding a boat and standing tall after what seems to be a fight. While most of the images center around his character Marcus, three of them manage to uncover several of his other co-stars,
Jamie Bell who stars as British slave Esca, Donald Sutherland who plays Marcus' uncle and Denis O'Hare who takes on ex-soldier Guern.
In "The Eagle of the Ninth", Channing Tatum portrays a young Roman centurion who tries to uncover the truth about the disappearance of his father's legion, the Ninth, in the north of Britain twenty years earlier. Accompanied by Esca, he travels beyond Hadrian's Wall into Caledonia to retrieve the lost legion's golden emblem and restore his father's reputation.
Set in 140 A.D., "Eagle of the Ninth" is directed by Kevin Macdonald. It is an adaptation of the 1954 historical adventure novel of the same name by Rosemary Sutcliffe. Filming has begun on August 24. This movie is expected to be ready for U.S. release by fall 2010.
