With judge Simon Cowell bowing out after season nine, words are floating that there is a possibility host Ryan Seacrest to be seen on the judging panel next season.
"American Idol" could see host
Ryan Seacrest serving as judge on season 10. Soon after
Simon Cowell announced he is leaving the show when season 9 has been wrapped, E! News pointed out the possibility the 35-year-old pulling double duties for the show, citing an insider, "Anything is possible. Stay tuned."
Sounding off similar idea, Cowell told Seacrest on the latter's KIIS-FM morning show that the younger TV personality would be a good addition to the panel. "You just literally jump from your stage, onto the judging chair, and that way you get an extra job," Cowell said. "See, I'm thinking of you, even in my darkest moments." Neither Ryan Seacrest nor FOX has offered any comment on the double duties possibility though.
Simon Cowell made the announcement that season nine of "American Idol" will be hist last on Monday, January 11. He also confirmed that he'll focus on bringing "The X Factor" to the U.S., saying "The X Factor will launch in 2011. Because of that, this will be my last season on American Idol."
To the press, the music executive admitted to have considered working on both shows. "We did talk about me staying on both shows but when we looked at the practicalities of that, it was impossible," he said. "In my opinion, it's like having a good player and a good football team. The two have to be okay together." Meanwhile, season 9 of "American Idol" has been kicked off on Tuesday, January 12 with Boston audition.
